Passport and Visa Requirements

Visitors must possess a passport valid for at least the next 6 months. Participants requiring a visa should apply immediately to a consular office or a diplomatic mission of the People’s Republic of China in their country in order to avoid a delayed arrival to the EORSA 2016 event. Please note that the visa application procedure can take up to two months. It is not possible to obtain visa at the Beijing or Shanghai Airport.

The conference local organizers assists the delegates by processing the official invitations upon request. However, these letters do not commit any financial obligation of the local organizers.

Information needed for an official invitation by EORSA 2016 Local Organizers:

  • Your full name
  • Date of birth
  • Place of birth
  • Country of citizenship (country which issued your passport)
  • Number of your passport
  • Expiration date of your passport
  • Permanent address: street, city, ZIP code, country, phone and fax number, e-mail.

Official invitation by the EORSA 2016 Local Organizers will be issued after your abstract is accepted and the registration fee is paid.

As soon as the required data are received – no later than March 15th, 2016, the Conference Organizing Committee will start the procedure of issuing the official invitation for you. The procedure may take a few weeks. When the official invitation is ready, it will be sent to you via email or fax. You shall then present it at the Chinese embassy in your country and get visa for the Conference.
